LV Hangzhou Tower
The arrangement of this Peter Marino designed store evolved quickly yielding a sophisticated stone and timber clad feature stair. In order to satisfy new seismic code requirements, the base structure needed to be strengthened in conjunction with to store fit-out using bonded carbon fibers to strengthen existing concrete beams. As the stair soffit was concealed allowing for simplified supporting structure, weight reduction and ease of assembly became the key considerations for the structural design to minimize the impact on the original structure.
