With thirty-five years of experience in the field of structural engineering consultancy working in both small and large design consultancies, John has been instrumental in the design, construction and management of a wide range of building and civil engineering structures including a number of award winning designs. He moved from the UK to Hong Kong in early 1997 and established Prime Consulting Engineers Ltd in 2011. The aim was to create a structural engineering design consultancy that would provide clients with smart advice and efficient elegant structural solutions to meet their needs. The ethos underpinning the business reflects his personal approach to design which is to find a most appropriate solution to even the most complex or challenging brief rather than take the easy path. Since establishing PCE and with the support of many excellent clients, John he has grown the team and business so that it now enjoys a strong reputation for quality design and much of the new business comes from existing clients and word-of-mouth referrals. As a senior member of the profession, John is active in the mentoring, training and examination of engineers in the professional institution graduate training programmes.
