Large Multi-Use Timber Table
A 2.8m diameter table with a radiant slot providing access to a central annulus was formed using 90mm thick Suar (Monkeywood) timber with six removable circular stainless-steel legs on castors was designed for the new gallery space. To provide maximum gallery flexibility, the legs could be unscrewed from the fixing to allow the table top to be lifted by a dedicated hoist and stored overhead beneath the slab soffit. Three sets of legs were fabricated to allow the table to function as a coffee table, working desk or stand-up bar.
